Born in Buffalo, New York in 1943, I claim ancestors from four European nationalities. I earned my PhD in 1977 and have taught at University of Texas and Seattle University, and retired in 2006 as Professor of Humanities from South Puget Sound Community College .

I continue to teach literature in Seattle in a program for mature adults. I have written three books on Shakespeare, a memoire, a play, and a western novel, Green River Saga (April 2020) and its sequel Raven Mountain published by Sunstone Press in Santa Fe, NM in July 2023.
